Flip-Card/Mini Album

This is my new favorite project!  A totally cute flip-card that can also be used as a mini album.  The center section has a mat to add a gift card to, so this is great for any gift-giving occasion...birthdays, Mothers' Day, Graduation, etc.  So many uses!  The center section has a mat that is the perfect size to accent a gift card.

Want the full-color handout with more photos, cutting sizes, and instructions?
It's only $5.00 by clicking the "Buy Now" link below.
Just be sure to add your email address during checkout so I know where to send it to

Simply place a minimum $10 order on my website at and the instructions are FREE!  (I'd recommend buying the "Brushed" paper packet and matching Complements - links at the bottom of the email), as that's all you need to create this, besides adhesive and a paper trimmer with a cutting and scoring blade.  After placing your order, just email me and let me know that you'd like the Flip Card/Mini Album instructions.

This is the closed flip-card, with a cute wrap-around paper closure.

Slide off the closure and you'll be able to unfold the flip card to see many mini pages.  My favorite?  The center section!  I created the pink mat below the stamped sentiment slightly larger than gift card size, so it's a perfect place to attach a gift card for the recipient!

Look at the additional layers in this card!  So many fun places that flip and fold out to reveal more thoughts and journaling, photos, or anything you'd like.  I recommend using only flat embellishments so that it closes nicely and lays flat.  Be sure to use a strong adhesive, and don't be skimpy along the edges.

Don't forget to click the link above to get the full-color handout emailed to you in pdf version.  Use the papers shown while they last, or substitute with whatever matching products you own.  You can't go wrong with this cute project!

"Brushed" Scrapbook Layouts, March 2015 Club

I'm completely in love with Close To My Heart's "Brushed" paper line.  Look at all of the super cute, MATCHING products you can get in this theme.  Click each to see them up close - product links are scattered throughout this post so you can find them easily online at my website at www.janene.ctmh.comBrushed Paper, Brushed Complements, Brushed Assortment, Brushed Scrapbook Workshop Kit.  I always teach my class attendees to lay out all of the pieces after cutting so they are comfortable with where they should go BEFORE adhering them permanently.

This is the main layout, with no photo mats so that YOU can choose what size and where you want to add your photos and journaling.  You'll notice that most of what I create does not include photo mats, as that can often be very limiting to pre-made layout pages.

This is the left layout page - my favorite thing is the super cute title!  The "OH SO" and "Happy" stamps come from the Scrapbook Workshop Kit, stamped in Canary and Archival Black inks.  The open leaves were stamped in Archival Black and then heat-set with our Craft Heater, and then colored in with two Shinhan alcohol markers - Leaf Green and Sap Green.  The page was finished off with metal floral embellishments from the matching assortment kit (which already have the adhesive attached, so you just peel and stick!)

 Large Floral B&T paper:  6 x 9 center piece, and 1-1/2 x 12 top border
Green Polka Dot B&T paper:  1/2 x 12 border and a 4 x 11 center strip
Canary Yellow cardstock:  2 x 7, layered behind floral center

The right layout page has all of the same matching elements from the left page for continuity.  The large center area can house one large photo, two-three smaller photos, journaling, or whatever you'd like.  Cute metal flower attached and the sentiment stamped in black ink as well.

 Large Floral B&T paper:  6 x 9 center piece, and 1-1/2 x 12 top border
Green Polka Dot B&T paper:  1/2 x 12 border and a 4 x 11 center strip
Canary Yellow cardstock:  7 x 10 center piece

Closer shot of the title - my favorite part of the layout!  After stamping the black leaves and heat-setting (to set the black ink and prevent marker bleeding), I colored in the first layer with the Leaf Green marker and then highlighted it with the darker Sap Green to add shading and depth.  The metal flower embellishments are the perfect finishing touch.

I love the simplicity of the right page corner...bringing in the black stamping to coordinate with the left page, and adding another metal flower.  I can't wait to add my pictures!

The second layout created using the same papers and products.  This layout features the matching Complements which are adorable (they are thinner than regular stickers, and they are a vellum-like look, so peel and place them gently).  In my scrapbook clubs, I usually teach a main layout (shown above) and then a second quick layout (this one!  Ha ha!) This kind of layout is very easily re-created using whatever papers you want

The left layout page is stunning, with the visual focus being the layered Complements and matching metal flower.  Just peel and stick all - so easy!  I also love that our B&T (background/texture) pattern paper is dual-sided, so you can choose which side you want to use, and get even more use from leftover scrap pieces.

Pixie cardstock:  12 x 12 base
Canary Floral B&T paper:  11 x 11
Green Polka Dot B&T paper:  1 x 11
(this is actually a scrap of the same Canary B&T, just flip it over to the polka dot side!)
White Daisy cardstock:  9-1/2 x 9-1/2

The white and floral papers are adhered first, and the polka dot paper added next.  Then simply peel and stick the vellum floral complements and cute metal flower.  :)
 Pixie cardstock: 12 x 12 base
White Daisy cardstock:  8 x 11
Canary Floral B&T paper:  3 x 11
Green Polka Dot B&T paper:  1 x 11

Close-up of the adorable title..."Imagine" and the yellow flower are both from the vellum sticker Complements and the metal flower is from the matching assortment.  SUCH great visual flow when you combine elements, and when the paper, ink, stickers, and other embellishments all match, it makes creating cute things SO easy.

Final close-up of the right layout page accent...the flowers are just one sticker from the Complements package, as well as the small green flowers.  Then just peel and stick the white metal flower and you're done.   Now...go order and create with these cute matching products while you can!
