April 2016 Club Projects "Regatta"

I'm having fun sharing this awesome REGATTA Workshops Your Way Kit from Close To My Heart.  It's so versatile and bright!

This is the first of two layouts we are creating this month in all of my scrapbook clubs.  This is our easy layout...takes less than 10 minutes to assemble.  The top blue piece is a sheet of B&T with the zip strip on top kept intact, not cut off.  Always a great start for a border and instant color.

Left layout page

Close up of the left page accent/possible title.  The pink rose paper is actually a 4x6 Picture My Life card that comes in the kit, followed by a layered strip of Flaxen cardstock, a large circle sticker and a small Kraft flower to finish it off.  Easy - just product layering, and ALL of that comes in the $26.95 kit.  WOW!

Right layout page

Close-up of the cute accent in the bottom corner.  Sometimes a simple layout can be pulled together simply by adding a cute focal point.  This was created by cutting a strip of Flaxen cardstock and cutting a faux-ribbon edge along it, then topping it with two Kraft flowers, a Kraft sentiment, and a bow (all included in the kit).

This is the second layout we are creating.  Sorry for the glare of the page protector - it looks a tiny bit like the shadow of Yoda, but I promise he wasn't here.  LOL!

Left layout page

My favorite part of this page is the Flip Flap title piece!  Simply add a 4x6 FLIP FLAP directly to the front of your page protector and slip in one of our awesome 4x6 PML cards included in the kit for an instant title.  This also gives you more room for photos, as you can fit two more below the flip flap.  One package of 4x6 Flip Flaps is only $3.95 and you get 15...yes, 15 (what a great deal!). This is one of my top five favorite products from Close To My Heart, and EVERY scrapbooker needs to have these in their possession.

Right layout page - so simple, simply cut a 12x12 piece of paper in half at 6" and place it in the center of your page, then add zip strips (included on every sheet of B&T paper) above and below for cute and easy borders.  I used THREE zip strips on this layout.

A really love this page accent...start with a 3x4 small PML card from the kit and mount it on coordinating Flaxen cardstock.  Tie a cute ribbon along the top edge, and finish off by adding another 1/2" strip of cardstock below it, with a sticker and two puffies.  So cute, so easy, but adds a big punch to the layout.  :)

This is the layout completed with pictures.  Although the kit name is "Regatta", which leads you to think about sailing, ships, water, etc., it's more versatile than that.  I used it to do my oldest son's Eagle Scout Ceremony and it works perfectly.  I included a picture below with the flip flaps closed and then opened, to show you how many extra pictures you could add.  For the right layout page, I actually added TWO flip flaps stacked on top of each other to double the space.  This layout has 11 photos on it with all the flip flaps.

 Oh goodness.
I've found my new card addiction.  LOL!
This folding pop-out card is SO stinkin' cute but so easy to create.  Be watching for a video coming soon on how to assemble this.  So easy, just two score lines!

Here's the folding pop-out card open so you can see the inside.  Seriously, how adorable is this card?  Great thing is it looks like a WOW card (and it is!) but it's actually really easy to create.

Time to join one of my local clubs if you want to be creating CUTE projects like these every month!  :)  Contact me!

April Stamp of the Month Card

I love the April 2016 Stamp of the Month from Close To My Heart!

Aren't all of the fun old cameras great?  This is only available in April so don't wait to purchase your set.  :)  Click the link above to view it and add it to your shopping cart.  You can purchase it for $17.95 full price, OR get it for just $5.00 with your $50 order...what a great perk!  :)

This is a card I created with this stamp set...the camera was stamped in black ink and cut out, as well as the photo frame.  I used our Watercolor Paints and Paintbrush Set to add a swash of yellow color on the background, as well as blue paint for the frame.  Finished it off with some shimmer trim and stamping.  Really cute and really simple.  :)  I also cut out my frame and mounted it with 3D foam tape so it popped off the page.

March 2016 Club Projects "Penelope"

I'm completely in love with the Close To My Heart PENELOPE Workshop Your Way Kit!  When you click the Penelope link above, you'll also see a link for the FREE workshop guide to download that gives you tons of ideas for creating great projects with this one kit.  LOVE THIS!  Save it to your computer for access at your fingertips for beautiful creations.  :)

This is the layout my club members created in March.  It's SO easy to assemble...there's no stamping, just paper and a great focus on the Picture My Life cards included in the kit.  Makes creating bright and embellished layouts a snap!

Left page - the entire left side of the layout is one strip of PML cards...don't cut them apart from the original sheet, just trim along one edge and attach the entire 12" length to the edge of the layout for an instant border.  :)

The PML cards were accented with an additional zip strip along the right edge, and then a rectangle sticker from the workshop kit, and two silver glitter puffies, also included in the kit.  Simple yet very eye-catching!

Right layout page.  You'll see many elements from the left page carried over to this page...a very important thing to keep in mind for continuity in creating.  Additional PML cards were used, and additional stickers and puffies were also added.

Don't get rid of your scraps...use them!  I took some 4x8 pieces of paper left from creating another project with this kit, and folded them in half for 4x4 card bases.  Then just decorated with washi tape (included in this kit!) and one of the small 3x4 PML cards cut in half (pink woodgrain) and adhered in the center.  Stickers and puffies also came in the kit.  Stamp your saying on the front and that's it! :)

One of my all-time favorite projects...the "Squash Book".  Be watching for a video link to show on my blog on HOW to create this.  It's great because it's a WOW mini book and super easy to create...just uses three square pieces of cardstock and three folds.  THREE!  Ha ha!  Stay tuned!
